Owner, Chris, and family
Chris Bowden and wife Jocelyn Bowden are the owners of Muddy Bottom Outfitters. Chris started MBO chasing a dream with his passion for hunting after graduating. He started traveling as a guide for extra money between seasons. He later met his wife (Jocelyn) and she now helps with the cooking, paperwork, basically keeps the business running while he guides. Chris has since guided several well known people in the hunting industry, all over the U.S. Chris and his wife Jocelyn have 3 kids — Maddison, Ryleigh, and Grayson. They are also a major part of Muddy Bottom Outfitters!
Scott & Brenda
Meet Chris’ parents. Mom (Brenda) helps Jocelyn with the cooking, and with anything that might be needed around the camps. Dad (Scott) helps with the guiding from time to time, and does the grilling. Most clients love his grilled chicken! Mom now enjoys retirement, the beach, anywhere with warm weather, and time with family. Dad enjoys anything in the outdoors — hunting, fishing, crabbing, boating. He truly enjoys surf-fishing and turkey hunting. Dad also enjoys spending time with mom, and family.
Sean Russell - Head Sika Guide
Sean is a Maryland native with 8-years of guiding experience and a true passion for Sika deer hunting. As Muddy Bottom Outfitters’ Head Sika Guide, Sean is known for his relentless work ethic and exceptional ability to put hunters in position — boasting near-perfect shot opportunities on 1x1 Sika hunts. He’s widely respected for his skill at calling in rutting stags and has guided successful hunts for Sika, Whitetail, and spring turkey throughout the region. When he’s not guiding, Sean enjoys shed hunting, calling in turkeys, fishing, and spending time outdoors with his family.
Chance Rayhart
Chance being from Pennsylvania is an avid outdoors-man and hunter. Chance started as a client with MBO back in 2019, Chris and Chance immediately hit it off and became the best of friends! He still hunts so many-days each season, but is also a major part of, and guide at MBO. Chance has been helping MBO with guiding since 2021 now. Chance has tons of knowledge in bow-hunting, and finding mature Whitetails. He enjoys the outdoors, bow-hunting, figuring out mature Whitetails, ‘79 Fords, and spending time with his family. Him and Chrissie have 2-boys, Bowen and Callaway.
Terry Payne
Meet Mr. Terry, a MBO spring turkey guide. Terry has years of knowledge calling in, and hunting spring turkeys! I would say what I’d consider a major part of Terry’s success is — his great woodsman-ship, patients, and old school way of hunting. Terry lives in Georgia where him and his wife (Tammie) have 1-daughter, Jessica. They both also run a successful butcher-shop, named Tailscreek Processing. Terry and his wife are believers of God, just all around amazing people! He enjoys all types of hunting/outdoor activities, helping others, and spending plenty of time with his family.
Dylan Finkbiner
Meet Dylan, a passionate Whitetail hunter that will mainly be running the North Whitetail Camp. Dylan has guided throughout parts of the Midwest, and all across the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He has a true passion for finding and chasing mature Whitetails. Dylan also enjoys spending time with his family. He has a girlfriend, Reian — they have two children, Riley and Adrian.
Ted Morlock
Meet Ted, a retired US National Park Service Chief Ranger with 40 years of experience in wildlife, outdoor recreation, and law enforcement throughout the US. He is a US Navy and US Forest Service Hotshot wildland fire veteran. Ted has hunted and fished in all 50 states and many countries abroad! He has hunted turkeys throughout the US for 35 years, and guided for 10-plus years. His hunting guide experiences also include Elk, Antelope, deer (Whitetail, Muley and Sika), and especially upland birds. He has a lifetime of experience guiding and instructing fly-fishing and fly casting throughout the US in fresh and saltwater. Ted lives in Maryland with his wife Jenny and their small tribe of 5 kids, two hunting dogs and an ever-changing group of chickens, turkeys, quail and such. Ted somehow finds time to pursue his other interests in outdoor writing and is a world champion wood carver. Ted feels that guiding is the perfect activity to bring his experience to others and thoroughly enjoys the added challenges and satisfactions guiding provides.
Jordan Walls
Meet Jordan, the new guy. Jordan came on with the MBO team this past ‘26 spring turkey season. He had tons of success, and each client that he guided had nothing but great things to say about Jordan! Being an avid outdoors-man, he has years of success — both spring turkey hunting and deer hunting. He has guided several successful Whitetail hunts throughout Ohio too. Jordan enjoys bow-hunting, spring turkey hunting, any type of fishing, and anything outdoors related. Jordan also enjoys spending time with his family. I’m personally excited that Jordan is now part of the MBO family!
